Hi and a very big welcome to my very first post.

I begin this post nervously, I have procrastinated over and over about what to write in my first blog, trying to think of something interesting and exciting and after much thought I decided to write just a little bit about me, boring and not really that exciting, but  I felt an introduction was important.

I live in New Zealand, I have been a teacher for over 20 years mainly in the junior school and mainly in Yr 0/1.  I have forayed into other levels but Yr 0/1 is my fav.  In NZ children start school on their actual 5th birthday or there abouts, so in our classrooms children can be starting all year, it can become very hectic and just when you think you have everyone sorted and organised and crossing their legs etc. a new lovely, gorgeous, busy, little angel begins. Which can and sometime does send your room into chaos.  However it also brings many positives too, like the oldies (I use this term lightly, they often may have only been at school for a month and are still tiny) become your role models and how they love it and take it on board with gusto.  I think in most other countries you call it Kindergarten.  (Do correct me if I am wrong) Hence why I have named my blog "Kindergarten Matters Too."

I have taught on and off over the years as I have spent time at home with my own children and due to my husbands moves with work.  I teach part time which is perfect and it gives me plenty of time to prepare for my teaching and make resources which I just love, actually I am completely addicted to. To be honest if I am not doing anything else you will find me on my computer tapping away.  I go to bed dreaming of ideas and things to make, I think I am driving my family completely mad.  As their thoughts and ideas and critique are regularly required.  Anyway  I am planning and hoping to share lots of my creations as well as the ideas I have learnt over the years.  Teaching part time allows you to share classrooms and therefore learn from other wonderful teachers in which I have been so very lucky, and I have learnt so much from so many wonderful teachers.
It is summer here and very hot and time to collect my children from school.  But before I leave I have included a freebie a Summer Holiday Writing Template not really aimed at kindys but I just really wanted to make something with the wonderful clipart which I love from Creative Clips. I am still learning how to do all this so if you can not access it from the image below it is also free at my Tpt store.
